<p dir="ltr">Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is a large, urban tertiary care pediatric hospital that receives referrals from southern California. CHLA provides care to ~1,800 children and youth with type 1 diabetes. The patient population is diverse in terms of race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status (58% publicly insured; 26% identify as White, 3% as Asian, 5% as Black, and 30% as Hispanic). English and Spanish are the most common spoken languages at home (85 and 12%, respectively).</p>
