Compared to their peers, historically excluded and marginalized adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with type 1 diabetes experience more adverse diabetes outcomes. CoYoT1 Care (a program offering person-centered care and virtual peer groups) provided via telehealth can serve the unique needs of diverse AYAs by increasing engagement and reducing A1C and physician-related diabetes distress.
