We compared the
completeness of data captured by physicians in a diabetes outpatient clinic
using a general electronic health record system versus one that was specifically
geared to diabetes. Use of diabetes-oriented
data system was found to allow for greater capture of crucial variables
required for diabetes care than a general electronic record and was
well-accepted by health care providers.
